Conditioning!

…..As a martial practitioner you need to be in shape so that you can actually apply your training if needed. So your martial training will help you get there but you may need more conditioning and that is where other forms of training come in. Everyone knows I am big on kettle bells and manage to bike almost every day. (weather permitting) Beyond that I do a lot of body calisthenics such as push ups, sit ups, free squats. I am also a lover of swimming, hiking, running, mountain climbing and more. So I try to have a varied work out routine that is fun and yet keeps my body fit. Diet is another thing you need to worry about to have optimal performance. Good nutrition with protein will help you perform at a high level. I love chicken and if you have a outdoor grill or a George Foreman grill then you can really have some delicious meals. Good nutrition can help with your conditioning by giving your body the fuels it needs to perform at a peak level. Last night was cajun chicken off the George Foreman grill with some corn and cranberries. (it was delicious) Today I will be hitting my conditioning pretty hard with 2 kettle bells doing a military press continuously until muscle exhaustion. Followed by shoulder presses, sit ups and a cardiovascular 3,4,6 & 10 count workout. To many people do not maintain a level of fitness and that is some thing that is vital to being able to protect yourself or your loved ones.
Here is a video clip of a one hand clean and jerk that goes on and on. (good strength and fitness)
The above person is also a serious martial artist

Is there a comic martial artist around? How about mischievous? (Sorry, couldn’t resist when I read the “serious martial arts” comment!)
