Firearm Training Simulators!

Airsoft Trainer with Green Gas Canister
…..If you need to train with firearms now a days there are simply lots of different opportunities. Of course nothing beats going to the range and getting in some range time with your personal firearm. However, there are now all different kinds of ways to train that may not involve going to the range. If you have an indoor training facility you can set up a private range there utilizing airsoft training firearm simulators. Airsoft has been around for quite some time. Basically it is a firearm simulator that shoots plastic bb’s. It was created and developed in Japan where they cannot have or own a firearm. When creating an airsoft range you need to as always with any projectile firearm simulator have appropriate eye protection. The advantage of airsoft is that you can shoot anywhere and at anytime provided you own the place. The only issue you will have is cleaning up all of the bb’s afterward. That is it. You can create a range with concealment opportunities as well as cover opportunities. You can create a range where there are surprises such as a force on force encounter. (one person with and airsoft trainer vs. another person with an airsoft trainer) Of course if you have a force on force situation then you will need airsoft face, eye protection masks. Airsoft allows for lots of unique training opportunities that are hard to replicate with real firearms.

In the following video you will see some airsoft target training.

Paintball can also fill a similar training niche but it is messier and therefore airsoft in my opinion is a superior training tool.
…..Beyond airsoft or paintball there are other ways of training. One way of training with your real firearm while rendering it safe is a training barrel from: Blade-Tech

…..A training barrel like this renders your firearm unable to shoot and creates a situation where you can dry fire or train with a partner and still have the feel of a real firearm. Doing this allows for the exact same feel of your firearm during training. Training barrel’s like this are also a excellent choice to use where a firearm may be in a class setting and it can be passed around without the fear of potentially going off.
…..Even another way of training is having a rubber firearm training simulator. There are a number of good ones on the market such as blue guns, red guns, etc. You can find some very affordable ones like the one pictured below.

…..These are just a few of ways to utilize some firearm training without going to a range. They certainly fill a nice niche in helping citizens, police and military train. However make sure you get in some range work as well!
