Winter Returns To The Great White North!
…..Well it is winter time in Michigan. (finally) For those of you who do not know me well, I simply relish the change in seasons. The first major snow fall is always a great and welcomed event! That means soon we will be training outside and feeling the snow. Those students of mine that have been around know that training in the snow or other adverse conditions is a rejuvenating thing. People have often asked me why do I enjoy training in various weather conditions. In the past I have trained quite a bit in snow, heat, rain, heavy rain, etc. Part of this was due to the fact that I used to teach outdoors 90% of the time. So we simply trained in whatever conditions were presented to us. This made for some exceptional martial practitioners who mentally had an edge so to speak! Training through and in harsh climatic conditions will only make you mentally tougher and able to cope with changes. From the ground being slippery to the heat bearing down and making you sweat profusely to that incredible rain storm where if you open your eyes a bit you simply cannot see. These type of training experiences are priceless and some thing that every martial practitioner needs to fuel the fire. In IRT the entire world is our training hall. Anyplace, anywhere and at any time is good to practice!
See You Out There!
