Pricing Martial Arts Equipment!
…..Okay if you look around there is absolutely a ton of martial arts equipment out there for sale. From DVDs to videos, books, e-books, sticks, training blades, live blades, sparring equipment, etc. So as a consumer you need to look very, very carefully at what you purchase and weigh the cost benefit analysis. Quite often if you are willing to look around you will find something at a discounted price. When I am looking for martial arts equipment I look very carefully for quality and then once I know what I want I try to find it via the web at the best possible price. You would be absolutely surprised at the deals you can find if you look. Some DVDs on a specific topic such as Brazilian Jiujitsu may run a small fortune. However, if you look around you may find a DVD on the same subject for considerably less. If you wait a bit the price will come down as well. A typical example of this is the old Century Martial Arts panther production DVDs. At one time they retailed well over $25 a dvd. Now those same titles can be purchased for $9.95! Another example would be the Gracie DVDs out of torrance. At one time they were incredibly expensive but now for a couple of hundred dollars less you can get them all. Some things have gone considerably up in cost for quality merchandise. Real live Filipino swords, Japanese Shinken, etc. (live blades) continue to go up in cost. So you have to understand that when you purchase one. The bottom line is that you need to shop around and look at everything out there and then make your decision!
